Dialpad sells an AI-powered business phone system (Dialpad Connect, listed at $15 to $25 per user per month billed annually, or $27 to $35 billed monthly), plus contact center, sales dialer and AI agent products. The main Dialpad alternatives are other cloud phone systems, sales and support call platforms, all-in-one local-business platforms and AI answering tools. Choose by what you need beyond calls, such as texting, reminders, reviews, payments or an AI receptionist with a published price.
Key takeaways
- Dialpad Connect is listed at $15 (Standard) and $25 (Pro) per user per month billed annually, or $27 and $35 billed monthly, with Enterprise priced by quote.
- Dialpad's AI Agents, which include its AI receptionist, use conversation-based credits and are priced through sales rather than on the pricing page.
- Dialpad competitors fall into four groups: cloud phone systems, sales and support call platforms, all-in-one local-business platforms and AI answering tools.
- On phone seats alone, Dialpad's annual price is lower than Talos Connect's seat prices; the comparison changes when you add reminders, reviews, payments and an AI receptionist.
- Talos Connect is a newer product with no CRM, EHR, PMS or POS integrations yet, so teams that depend on Salesforce or HubSpot sync should weigh that heavily.
- Never cancel your current service before a number port completes, and carry texting opt-outs into any new system.
If you are comparing Dialpad alternatives, start by naming which Dialpad product you actually use. Dialpad sells an AI-powered business phone system called Dialpad Connect, a contact center product called Dialpad Support, a sales dialer called Dialpad Sell, and AI agents that answer calls and chats. Businesses look elsewhere when they want texting, reminders, reviews and payments in the same system, an AI receptionist with a published monthly price, or simply a second quote at renewal. The realistic alternatives are other cloud phone systems, sales and support call platforms, all-in-one local-business platforms and AI answering tools.
A note on fairness. Talos Connect competes in this market, so read this as one vendor's guide. Every Dialpad price and feature below comes from Dialpad's own website as we read it on October 12, 2026. Prices and plans change, so confirm them on Dialpad's site or with its sales team before you decide.
What is Dialpad?
Dialpad is a cloud communications company. A cloud phone system, also called VoIP (voice over internet protocol) or UCaaS (unified communications as a service), carries business calls over the internet and lets staff answer on a desk phone, a computer or a mobile app instead of a traditional landline.
Dialpad's pricing page groups its products into four tabs:
- Dialpad Connect. Described by Dialpad as an "AI-powered communications platform for calls, messages, and meetings." This is the business phone system most small and mid-sized offices compare.
- Dialpad Support. Contact center software with omnichannel routing, a power dialer, analytics and AI coaching.
- Dialpad Sell. An outbound sales product with AI transcripts, coaching and local presence dialing on higher tiers.
- Dialpad AI Agent. Autonomous voice and chat agents, priced per conversation rather than per user.
According to the Dialpad Connect FAQ, the included AI features are real-time call transcription, voicemail transcription, AI Recaps (automatic call and meeting summaries with action items) and real-time analytics. Dialpad says it runs on desktops, laptops, iOS and Android phones, tablets and desk phones, and supports international local numbers in more than 50 countries. Its product page lists integrations with tools such as Salesforce, Zendesk, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, HubSpot and Zoho, and refers to "enterprise-grade compliance like HIPAA and GDPR."
Dialpad's AI receptionist page says its AI Agents can handle inbound calls around the clock, book or reschedule appointments directly where configured, and route callers who need a person to the right place with the conversation context attached. Setup uses a no-code builder written in plain language.
Dialpad's real strengths, in plain terms: a mature cloud phone system, AI transcription and summaries built into every Connect plan, deep CRM and help desk integrations on higher plans, international numbers, and separate contact center and sales products for teams that grow into them.
Dialpad pricing: what does it cost?
As listed on Dialpad's pricing page in October 2026, Dialpad pricing for the Connect phone system is:
| Dialpad Connect plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | What the plan card highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Contact sales | Everything in Pro plus SSO, user access controls, unlimited office locations and a 99.9% uptime commitment |
The other Dialpad products are priced separately. Billed monthly, Dialpad Support is listed at $109, $145 and $179 per user per month for Essentials, Advanced and Premium, and Dialpad Sell at $49, $70 and $95. Dialpad AI Agents have no public price: the page explains that you buy a pool of AI Agent Credits and a conversation is billable only when the AI retrieves information or takes an action such as scheduling or routing. You get a number from Dialpad's sales team.
A few points worth noting before you compare:
- Annual versus monthly billing is a big gap. Standard is $12 per user per month cheaper on annual billing, which also means a longer commitment.
- Regional pricing. Dialpad's FAQ says the price you see may differ from your actual price because of regional pricing and currency.
- What sits outside the plan price. Ask for taxes, regulatory fees, desk phones, AI Agent credits, texting charges and any setup fees in writing. Dialpad offers a 14-day free trial of Connect, which is a good time to collect those numbers.
Why do businesses look for Dialpad alternatives?
Looking at alternatives to Dialpad is ordinary due diligence. The reasons we hear are about fit, not fault.
- The business needs more than calls and meetings. A dental office, salon or HVAC company often wants appointment reminders, review requests, text-to-pay and digital forms tied to the same phone number. Those are not part of the Dialpad Connect plan cards, so they usually mean extra tools.
- The owner wants an AI receptionist with a published price. Dialpad's AI Agents are priced through sales. Some owners prefer to see a monthly figure up front.
- The team is local, not distributed. Dialpad's higher plans emphasize multi-office management and integrations. A single-location business may value industry-specific workflows more.
- A renewal date is coming. The end of an annual term is the natural time to compare.
- Different AI needs. Some businesses want AI that places outbound recall or reminder calls, or replies to texts after hours, not only AI that summarizes calls.
Write down your own reason before any demo. It becomes the test each vendor has to pass.
What are the best Dialpad alternatives?
There is no single best answer, because Dialpad competitors solve different problems. Sort them by category first.
| Category | Examples | Best for | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud phone systems (UCaaS) | RingCentral, Nextiva, Ooma, Vonage, Grasshopper | Teams that mainly need calling, meetings and team chat | Customer-facing tools such as reminders, reviews and payments are usually separate |
| Sales and support call platforms | Aircall, Dialpad Sell and Support | Call-heavy sales or support teams that live in a CRM | Built around agents and queues rather than front-desk workflows |
| All-in-one local-business platforms | Weave, Podium, Talos Connect | Offices that want phones, texting, scheduling, reviews and payments in one place | Bigger switching project; integration coverage varies by vendor |
| AI and live answering services | Smith.ai, Ruby | Businesses that only want calls answered | Does not replace your phone system; another bill and login |
If your main question is phones, start with the first row and read our RingCentral alternatives guide and Ooma alternatives guide. If you run a sales or support team, compare Dialpad with Aircall, covered in our Aircall alternatives guide. If you run a healthcare practice, our Weave alternatives guide explains the all-in-one category in more depth.
Dialpad vs RingCentral: how do they compare?
Searches for Dialpad vs RingCentral usually come from teams that have narrowed the field to two well-known cloud phone systems. Both sell per-user plans with mobile and desktop apps, meetings and AI features. As listed on RingCentral's pricing page in October 2026, RingCentral sells its phone system as RingEX, with Core and Advanced plans, lists its AI Receptionist (AIR) as an add-on on those plans, and prices its AI Customer Engagement Bundles by quote.
Because both vendors change plans and promotions often, compare them on the same five questions:
- Which plan would we actually need, and what is the per-user price on the billing term we want?
- How is the AI receptionist priced, and what does it cost at our real call volume?
- What are the texting limits, fees and registration steps?
- Which integrations are included on that plan rather than the next one up?
- What is the contract length, and what happens at renewal?

It covers business phones, two-way texting, scheduling and reminders, reviews, payments, digital forms, marketing and an AI receptionist. It runs on Talos's own phone service. It is a newer product than Dialpad, so expect to test it carefully and ask hard questions.

Where Dialpad is stronger. Lower phone-only price on annual billing, AI transcription and summaries included in every Connect plan, CRM and help desk integrations from the Pro plan, international numbers, contact center and sales dialer products, and a 14-day free trial of Connect.
Where Talos Connect is stronger. Customer-facing tools for local businesses in one system: two-way business texting, reminders, reviews, payments and forms. An AI receptionist with a published monthly price that books on the calendar and speaks English, Spanish and Vietnamese. AI outbound campaigns ($199/mo) and an after-hours AI text agent ($49/mo). Industry editions for medical, dental, veterinary, restaurants, home services, law firms, salons and spas, auto repair and professional services. Seats, numbers and Yealink desk phones (from $89, one-time) can be added yourself through the self-service store. Talos Connect is available to businesses anywhere in the United States, set up and supported remotely.
Where Talos Connect is limited. No CRM, EHR, practice-management or point-of-sale integrations yet. The AI receptionist is AI only: there is no human answering service behind it, and calls transfer to your own staff on request. It is a newer product.

Who should stay with Dialpad?
Stay with Dialpad if any of these describe you:
- Your team relies on Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk or Microsoft Teams integration today.
- You run a contact center or outbound sales team and want Dialpad Support or Dialpad Sell on the same platform as your phones.
- Your staff work across offices or countries and need international numbers.
- Your main need is calls, meetings and AI call summaries, and you do not need reminders, reviews or payments in the same system.
- You are on an annual plan at a price you are happy with, and the phones work well.
Switching has a real cost in time and training. If Dialpad fits, keep it.
Hypothetical worked example: what would a small office pay?
This example is hypothetical. It uses only list prices published on dialpad.com and in the Talos Connect price list on October 12, 2026. It leaves out taxes, regulatory fees, hardware, setup, texting usage charges and anything priced by quote. Replace every figure with your written quotes.
Suppose a six-person office: two front-desk staff who text customers and four staff who only need calls.
Dialpad Connect Standard, six users
- Billed monthly: 6 x $27 = $162 a month. Over 12 months: 12 x $162 = $1,944.
- Billed annually: 6 x $15 = $90 a month. Over 12 months: 12 x $90 = $1,080.
Talos Connect, mixed seats
- 2 Standard seats: 2 x $24.95 = $49.90.
- 4 Basic seats: 4 x $19.95 = $79.80.
- 1 texting number: $10.
- Monthly: $49.90 + $79.80 + $10 = $139.70. Over 12 months: 12 x $139.70 = $1,676.40, plus the $50 one-time texting registration, for $1,726.40.
On phones alone, Dialpad billed annually is the lowest at $1,080 for the year, and Talos Connect sits between Dialpad's annual and monthly prices.
Now suppose the office also wants calls answered by AI after hours. Talos Connect adds the AI receptionist at $149 a month with 500 minutes: $139.70 + $149 = $288.70 a month, or 12 x $288.70 = $3,464.40 plus $50, for $3,514.40 in year one. If the office used 700 AI minutes in a busy month, that month's AI cost would be $149 + $75 = $224. The equivalent Dialpad figure cannot be calculated from public prices, because AI Agents are sold on credits through sales. Reminders, reviews and payments would also need pricing from Dialpad or separate tools.
The lesson: price the whole job you need done, not the seat. Our savings page shows how Talos Connect list prices add up for 10, 50 and 100 users.
How do you switch from Dialpad without losing calls?
Follow this order and keep both systems running until the end.
- Confirm your Dialpad billing term and renewal date, and note any notice period.
- List every number you own: main line, direct dials, toll-free, fax and any tracking numbers.
- Sign with the new provider and request the port, using the exact name and address on your Dialpad account.
- Start texting registration early, because 10DLC approval through The Campaign Registry runs on the carriers' timeline, not the vendor's.
- Rebuild call flows, ring groups, hours and greetings in the new system on temporary numbers, and test them.
- Train staff on the new apps and desk phones before port day.
- Port on a quiet day with a forwarding plan as a fallback.
- Cancel Dialpad in writing only after every number shows as ported and texting works.
The FCC explains your right to keep your number in its consumer guide to porting.
Migration checklist
- Porting: a recent bill, account number, any port-out PIN, the authorized contact's name, and every number on one list
- Contacts: export names, numbers and email addresses, plus texting opt-out status so anyone who replied STOP stays opted out
- Templates: copy saved replies, voicemail greetings, auto attendant scripts and hold messages into a document
- Texting registration: brand and campaign details for 10DLC, plus opt-in wording on your website and forms
- Call history and recordings: export what you must keep for your records before access ends
- Integrations: list every tool that reads call data today, and decide what replaces it
- Hardware: check whether your desk phones can be reprovisioned or need replacing
- Staff: schedule training and a go-live check-in for the first week
Our phones and VoIP feature page explains how Talos Connect handles numbers, apps and desk phones.
Common mistakes when comparing business phone systems
- Comparing seat prices only. A cheap seat plus three add-on tools can cost more than a pricier bundle. Price the whole job.
- Mixing billing terms. Comparing one vendor's annual price with another's monthly price makes the cheaper one look even cheaper.
- Assuming the AI receptionist is included. Many vendors price AI answering separately, by minute, by conversation or by quote. Get the number at your real call volume.
- Not asking about calling allowances in writing. Ask every vendor, us included, to state calling allowances, international rates and overage terms in the contract.
- Forgetting texting registration. Business texting from a local number needs 10DLC registration, and it takes time.
- Cancelling before the port completes. This is how businesses lose the number on their sign.
- Ignoring integrations you rely on. If your team logs every call in a CRM, confirm the integration exists on the plan you are buying.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Dialpad cost?
As listed on Dialpad's pricing page in October 2026, Dialpad Connect Standard is $15 per user per month billed annually or $27 billed monthly, and Pro is $25 annually or $35 monthly. Enterprise is priced by quote. Dialpad's FAQ notes that prices can vary by region and currency, so confirm your quote in writing.
What are the main Dialpad competitors?
Dialpad competitors include other cloud phone systems such as RingCentral, Nextiva, Ooma and Vonage, sales and support call platforms such as Aircall, all-in-one local-business platforms such as Weave, Podium and Talos Connect, and AI or live answering services such as Smith.ai. Which group fits depends on what you need beyond calling.
Is Dialpad or RingCentral better for a small business?
Neither is better for every business. Both sell cloud phone systems with per-user plans, meetings and AI features. Compare the plan you would actually buy, the AI receptionist pricing, texting terms, the integrations you rely on and contract length. Ask each vendor for a written quote for the same number of users and features.
Does Talos Connect have an AI receptionist like Dialpad's AI Agents?
Yes. The Talos Connect AI receptionist is a $149 monthly add-on that includes 500 minutes, with additional 500-minute packs at $75. It answers 24/7 or only after hours or on overflow, books in the Talos Connect calendar, and speaks English, Spanish and Vietnamese. It is AI only and transfers callers to your own staff on request.
Can I keep my phone number if I leave Dialpad?
In most cases yes. US rules generally let you port a number to a new provider when the port request matches the current account details. Keep your Dialpad service active until the port completes, because cancelling first can release the number. Porting existing numbers to Talos Connect is free.
Does Talos Connect connect to Salesforce or HubSpot?
Not yet. Talos Connect does not currently offer CRM, EHR, practice-management or point-of-sale integrations; they are on the roadmap. Contacts, scheduling and AI booking live in Talos Connect itself. If automatic CRM call logging is central to how your team works, a platform with that integration today, such as Dialpad Pro, may suit you better.
