The short answer

Birdeye is a reputation, listings and customer experience platform that now sells AI coworkers for multi-location brands, and its pricing is quote-based by number of locations. Birdeye alternatives include Podium, healthcare all-in-ones such as Weave, standalone review and listings tools, and AI-first communication platforms such as Talos Connect. Choose by whether your priority is reputation and listings across many locations or phones, texting and AI call answering for one business.

Key takeaways

  • Birdeye pricing is not published; its pricing page asks for your number of locations and says pricing is built around outcomes, not seat counts.
  • Birdeye's strengths are reviews, listings, social, surveys and AI search visibility managed across many locations, plus a large integration catalog.
  • Birdeye competitors fall into four groups: lead-conversion platforms such as Podium, healthcare all-in-ones, single-purpose reputation tools and AI-first communication platforms.
  • Birdeye vs Podium comes down to focus: Birdeye leans toward multi-location reputation and marketing, Podium toward lead conversion and payments.
  • Talos Connect is a phone-first platform with published prices and an AI receptionist, but it does not manage listings or social and has no CRM or EHR integrations yet.

If you are researching Birdeye alternatives, the first question is what you use Birdeye for. Birdeye is a reputation, listings and customer experience platform that now sells AI coworkers for multi-location brands, and its pricing is quote-based. The realistic alternatives are Podium, healthcare-focused all-in-ones such as Weave, single-purpose review and listings tools, and AI-first communication platforms such as Talos Connect that start from the phone system.

A note on fairness. Talos Connect competes with Birdeye in some areas and not at all in others, so read this as one vendor's view. Every Birdeye fact below comes from Birdeye's own website and press releases, checked in October 2026. Where Birdeye does not publish something, such as prices, we say so and move on.

What is Birdeye?

Birdeye is best known for review and reputation management, and today it sells a broader customer experience suite. On its home page in October 2026, Birdeye describes its products as AI coworkers for multi-location brands that help them win AI visibility, book appointments and keep customer experience consistent at every location. In September 2026 it organized its products around a platform and three named coworkers:

  • BirdAI. Birdeye calls this its agentic operating system. It is the layer the coworkers run on, with integrations and orchestration across them.
  • Jay, the marketing coworker. AI search visibility, reviews, listings, social posting, email and SMS marketing campaigns, a website chatbot and location pages.
  • Myna, the operations coworker. Front desk, appointments, reminders, waitlist and insurance verification across voice, email and text.
  • Robin, the customer experience coworker. Surveys, sentiment insights, competitor tracking, ticketing and reporting.

Alongside those, Birdeye's product page lists Messaging, Mass Texting and Referrals, and Payments has its own product page. A few details from the individual product pages:

  • Reviews. A review generation agent asks customers on the channel most likely to get a response, and a review response agent writes replies in your brand voice that post on their own or wait for approval. Ratings and reviews from every site are gathered in one place.
  • Listings. Birdeye integrates natively with Google, Facebook, Apple, Yelp and Bing, which it describes as deep instead of wide. One approved fix can apply across every location it belongs to.
  • Messaging. Text, webchat, social and email messages in one inbox, with routing to staff or locations, plus an auto-receptionist that answers calls when you are busy and transcribes voicemails.
  • Payments. Payment requests by text, email, QR code and website, card readers for contactless, chip and swiped cards, recurring payments and financing.

Birdeye's site lists industries including healthcare, dental, automotive, real estate, property management, restaurants, home services, financial services, legal, retail, wellness, self storage and franchises.

Birdeye pricing: what does it cost?

Birdeye pricing is quote-based. As listed on Birdeye's pricing page in October 2026, there are no plan names or prices. The page says pricing is built around outcomes, not seat counts, and describes one platform and one contract where you pay for what you deploy at your locations. To get a number you fill in a form that asks for your business email, company and number of locations, in bands of 1-3, 4-9, 10-39, 40-249, 250-999 and 1,000 or more.

That tells you two useful things. First, location count drives the price, so a business with one or two locations should expect a quote shaped by that. Second, you pay for the coworkers and products you deploy, so the scope of the quote matters as much as the total.

We do not repeat third-party estimates of Birdeye prices here, because they are not Birdeye's own figures and they go out of date. When you ask for a quote, get these items in writing:

  1. Which products and coworkers are included, named one by one.
  2. The price per location and how it changes if you add or close a location.
  3. Whether Myna is available for your industry and what it costs.
  4. Messaging and texting limits, and the price of more.
  5. Payment processing rates and card reader hardware costs.
  6. Setup or onboarding fees.
  7. Contract length, renewal terms and price changes at renewal.

Why do businesses look for Birdeye alternatives?

Looking around is ordinary due diligence. The reasons are usually about fit.

  • They have one or two locations. Birdeye's positioning is built around multi-location brands. A single shop may want something sized for one team.
  • The phones are the problem. If the main issue is missed calls, an owner may want a business phone system and AI call answering as the core product, with reviews as one feature among several.
  • They want published prices. Some buyers want to build a budget before a sales call.
  • Their industry is not covered by Myna yet. Birdeye lists other industries as coming soon for Myna, so a non-healthcare business that wants AI voice answering today may compare elsewhere.
  • A renewal is coming up. Contract end dates are the natural time to compare.

What should you ask every vendor in a demo?

Send the same script to each vendor before the demo and ask them to show each step live, not describe it. A scripted demo is the fastest way to see the difference between a product page and a working product.

  • Show me a customer texting our main number at 9 p.m. What happens, and who sees it in the morning?
  • Show me a call we miss during the lunch rush. Does the caller get an answer, a text or a voicemail?
  • Show me a review request going out after a visit, and what happens when the customer leaves one star.
  • Show me how a manager at one location sees only that location's messages and reviews, if that matters to you.
  • Show me how a listing change, such as holiday hours, reaches Google, if you will rely on the vendor for listings.
  • What is the full cost in year one and year two for our exact number of locations and users?
  • If we leave, how do we export contacts, opt-outs, templates and reports, and in what format?
  • What does the product not do today, and what is on the roadmap?

Pay attention to the answer to the last question. A vendor that answers it plainly is likely to be straightforward after the sale too, and the answer tells you which gaps you will need to fill with other tools.

What are the best Birdeye alternatives?

The best Birdeye alternatives depend on which part of Birdeye you would be replacing. Birdeye competitors sort into four groups.

CategoryExamplesStrengthsTrade-offs
Lead-conversion platformsPodiumReviews, inbox, payments and an AI EmployeeQuote-based; phones priced in the quote
Healthcare all-in-onesWeavePractice-management integrations, patient workflowsBuilt mainly for healthcare
Single-purpose reputation and listings toolsMany vendorsDo one job well, often simple to buyAnother login and bill; no phones or texting
AI-first communication platformsTalos ConnectPhones, texting, AI answering and AI outbound on one billNewer; no listings, social or integrations yet

If reviews and listings across many locations are what you value, the first and third groups are the closest substitutes. If missed calls and slow follow-up are the bigger problem, the fourth group is worth a look. Our Weave alternatives guide covers the healthcare group, and our Podium alternatives guide looks at Podium in detail.

Birdeye vs Podium: what is the difference?

Birdeye vs Podium is the comparison most buyers start with, because both are known for reviews. Based on each company's own website in October 2026:

  • Positioning. Birdeye presents itself as AI coworkers for multi-location brands, spanning marketing, operations and customer experience. Podium centers on lead conversion, with an inbox, phones, payments and an AI Employee that answers calls, texts and chats.
  • Breadth of marketing tools. Birdeye lists listings management, social posting, AI search visibility, surveys and ticketing. Podium's product list centers on reviews, the inbox, phones, website chat, text marketing and payments.
  • Phones. Podium sells Podium Phones as a product. Birdeye's product list does not name a phone system; its Messaging page describes an auto-receptionist and voicemail transcription.
  • Pricing. Both are quote-based. Podium's pricing page asks you to talk to sales; Birdeye's asks for your location count.

Talos Connect vs Birdeye

Talos Connect overlaps with Birdeye on reviews, texting and payments, and differs on almost everything else. It is a phone-first platform from Talos Automation, LLC, built in Houston, Texas and available to businesses anywhere in the United States, set up and supported remotely. It is also a newer product than Birdeye. "Check with vendor" means Birdeye's site did not answer the question.

Where Birdeye is stronger. Reputation and marketing across locations is Birdeye's home ground: reviews, listings, social, location pages, surveys and AI search visibility in one suite. Its integration catalog is large; Birdeye's integrations page says it integrates with over 3,000 software systems, with named examples such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Epic, Salesforce, ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro. For healthcare and dental groups, Myna books with integrations into EHR and practice-management systems, which Talos Connect cannot do today.

Where Talos Connect is stronger. It is a full phone system first, with seats, numbers, desk phones and a self-service store for adding them yourself. List prices are published for every seat and add-on. The AI receptionist answers in English, Spanish or Vietnamese, books during the call and texts a confirmation, and it is not limited to healthcare. Two-way business texting from your main number, AI outbound calls and an after-hours AI text agent sit on the same bill. Review requests go to every customer, as described on our reviews feature page.

Who should stay with Birdeye?

Birdeye is a strong platform, and many businesses should keep it. Stay with Birdeye if:

  • You run many locations. Central control of listings, reviews and social across dozens or hundreds of locations is what Birdeye is built for.
  • Reputation and local search are your main growth levers. Listings, AI search visibility and review response at scale are not things Talos Connect offers.
  • You are a healthcare or dental group that needs EHR-connected booking. Myna's EHR and practice-management integrations do something Talos Connect cannot do yet.
  • You rely on surveys, ticketing or competitor tracking. Those are Birdeye products with no Talos Connect equivalent.
  • Your team has built workflows on its integrations. Replacing them costs time and risk.

How do the costs compare? A hypothetical worked example

Birdeye does not publish prices, so this hypothetical example prices the Talos Connect side from its list prices and leaves Birdeye as a template for your quote. The business is invented for illustration.

Suppose a single-location auto repair shop has 4 service writers who text customers, 2 managers who only need phones, wants AI to answer overflow and after-hours calls, and wants AI outbound calls to bring back customers who are overdue for service.

Talos Connect, monthly

  • 4 Standard seats with texting: 4 x $24.95 = $99.80
  • 2 Basic seats: 2 x $19.95 = $39.90
  • 1 texting number: $10.00
  • AI receptionist with 500 minutes: $149.00
  • AI outbound campaigns: $199.00
  • Monthly total: $99.80 + $39.90 + $10.00 + $149.00 + $199.00 = $497.70

Talos Connect, one-time: texting registration $50.00. Porting existing numbers is free.

First year: (12 x $497.70) + $50.00 = $5,972.40 + $50.00 = $6,022.40.

Now add what Talos Connect does not do. If the shop also wants listings management and social posting, it needs a separate tool. Call that tool's yearly cost L. The fair comparison is then $6,022.40 + L against Birdeye's written quote plus whatever phone service the shop keeps paying for alongside Birdeye. Call that phone bill P. So compare:

  • Talos Connect route: $6,022.40 + L
  • Birdeye route: Birdeye's yearly quote + P

If the shop does not care about listings or social, L is zero and the comparison is simpler. This example leaves out taxes, regulatory fees, payment processing, hardware and setup labor, and it assumes AI minutes stay within the 500 included each month. Each extra block of 500 minutes is $75.

How do you switch from Birdeye without losing ground?

The main risk in leaving a reputation platform is a gap in review requests and listings updates. Plan it in this order.

  1. Read your Birdeye agreement for the term end date, notice period and renewal terms.
  2. Decide what replaces each Birdeye product you use: reviews, listings, social, messaging, payments and surveys.
  3. Sign with the new vendors and pick a go-live date outside your busy season.
  4. Start texting registration and any number ports early, because carrier timelines are outside the vendor's control.
  5. Export contacts, opt-outs, review request templates, survey questions and reports you want to keep.
  6. Confirm who controls each listing, and make sure your own login is an owner on your Google Business Profile.
  7. Build and test the new review request flow and AI greeting on staff phones before going live.
  8. Cancel Birdeye in writing only after every replacement is running.

Migration checklist

Listings and profiles

  • Confirm owner access to your Google Business Profile, Facebook page and Apple and Bing listings
  • Record current hours, categories and descriptions so nothing changes by accident
  • Note which listings Birdeye updates automatically today

Reviews

  • Save your review request templates and timing
  • Point new requests at the correct review link for each location
  • Keep asking every customer, not only the happy ones; the FTC has rules on consumer reviews and review sites have their own policies

Contacts and texting

  • Export contacts with opt-out status and carry every STOP over
  • Register the brand and campaign for 10DLC through the process your vendor manages with The Campaign Registry
  • Update opt-in wording on your website and forms if needed

Payments and phones

  • Plan for stored cards and recurring payments, which usually do not move between processors
  • List every phone number, get the port-out PIN, and keep old service active until each port completes

Common mistakes when comparing reputation and communication platforms

  • Replacing a suite with one tool. If you use Birdeye for listings, social and surveys, a phone platform will not cover those. Map each product first.
  • Comparing a per-location quote with per-user prices without converting. Put both on a yearly total for your actual locations and users.
  • Losing listing ownership. Make sure your business, not a vendor, owns every profile.
  • Pausing review requests during the switch. A gap of a few weeks can show up in your review count.
  • Forgetting opt-outs. Texting someone who said STOP is a problem under the TCPA and with customers.
  • Assuming an AI feature covers your industry. Ask whether it is generally available for you today.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Birdeye cost?

Birdeye does not publish prices. As listed on its pricing page in October 2026, you request pricing through a form that asks for your number of locations, in bands from 1-3 up to 1,000 or more. The page says pricing is built around outcomes rather than seat counts. Ask for a written quote that names each product, each location and the contract term.

What are the main Birdeye competitors?

Birdeye competitors include Podium, which centers on lead conversion and payments; healthcare all-in-one platforms such as Weave; single-purpose review and listings tools; and AI-first communication platforms such as Talos Connect that start from the phone system. Which group fits depends on whether reputation across many locations or answering and converting calls matters most to your business.

Birdeye vs Podium: which should I choose?

Both sell reviews, messaging and payments, and both price by quote. Birdeye presents itself as AI coworkers for multi-location brands, with listings, social, surveys, ticketing and AI search alongside reviews. Podium centers on converting leads, with an AI Employee, phones and payments. Multi-location brands often lean toward Birdeye; lead-focused single locations often lean toward Podium. Demo both.

Does Birdeye have an AI receptionist?

Birdeye sells Myna, an AI operations coworker for front desk calls, appointments, reminders, waitlists and insurance verification across voice, text, chat and email. Birdeye announced in September 2026 that Myna is generally available for healthcare and dental organizations, with other industries listed as coming soon. Ask Birdeye whether it is available for your industry today.

Can Talos Connect manage my Google Business Profile and other listings?

No. Talos Connect does not manage business listings, social media posting or location pages. It sends review requests by text that point customers to your review page, with AI-drafted replies, and syncing reviews from Google is on the roadmap. If listings and social management across many locations is a core need, Birdeye or a dedicated listings tool fits better.

Does Talos Connect work for healthcare practices that need EHR scheduling?

Talos Connect is designed to support HIPAA-conscious workflows, and a business associate agreement is part of onboarding for healthcare clients. It does not yet have EHR or practice-management integrations, so its AI receptionist books in the Talos Connect calendar, not in your EHR. If booking straight into your EHR is essential, choose a platform that offers that today.
