How we priced Talos

The Talos number is list price, not a teaser.

Every user gets our top Premium seat: unlimited US and Canada calling, the mobile and desktop apps, business texting, visual voicemail, call recording, queues and Call Intelligence. Team chat, video meetings, scheduling, reminders, reviews, forms, payments and campaigns are part of the platform. We add the AI receptionist with enough minutes for your calls, the fax lines, call-tracking numbers and phone menus a real office needs.

One-time setup: carrier texting registration and number setup, about $55. Desk phones are optional (from $89 each); most teams use the free apps. Card processing rates still apply to payments, as they do with any processor.

What is and isn't counted

  • Software and service prices are vendors' published list prices for US small and mid-size businesses, checked in October 2026 and shown per month. Where a vendor sells annual plans, the annual price is used, except call tracking and online fax, which are shown at monthly billing.
  • Where a vendor does not publish prices (8x8, Reputation.com, Birdeye, Podium), the figure comes from a third-party price tracker, marked in the sources.
  • The receptionist view assumes the AI receptionist takes over the front desk's calls (about 2,000 minutes a month per receptionist) and the role is not refilled. The Talos total in that view adds enough AI minutes to answer those calls. The receptionist cost is the BLS median wage plus employer benefits for an office of that size. Switch it off to compare software and services only.
  • The Microsoft Teams line is the standalone Teams Essentials license. Offices that get Teams inside a Microsoft 365 plan save less: moving to the same plan without Teams at renewal saves about $1.60 a user on Business Basic.
  • Talos Connect is priced at list, with the top Premium seat for every user. Volume pricing can lower it.
  • Not counted on either side: merchant account and card processing fees, taxes and regulatory fees, desk phones, internet service, and Microsoft 365 email or Office apps, which Talos Connect does not replace.
  • One-time Talos setup (carrier texting registration and number setup) is shown with the package. Porting your existing numbers is free.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

What does Talos Connect replace?

It replaces the phone work of a front-desk receptionist, an after-hours answering service, your business phone system, Microsoft Teams licenses, a business texting platform, online scheduling and reminders, review management, digital forms and e-signature, email marketing such as Constant Contact, online fax such as eFax and call tracking with one platform on our own business phone service. You keep your phone numbers.

How much does a 10-user office save with Talos Connect?

About $4,282 a month (83% less, $51,379 a year) when the AI receptionist takes over the front desk's calls, or about $637 a month on software and services alone. Today's stack costs about $5,140 a month; Talos Connect is about $858 at list price, including 2,500 AI minutes for those calls.

How much do 50 and 100-user offices save?

A 50-user office pays about $11,239 a month today versus $2,612 with Talos Connect, saving about $8,627 a month. A 100-user office pays about $18,419 versus $4,843, saving about $13,576 a month.

Does Talos Connect replace Microsoft Teams?

It replaces what Teams does for calling, chat and video meetings: the phone system, team chat and meetings with recordings, transcripts and notes are all built in. It does not replace Outlook email or the Office apps, so offices that need those keep a Microsoft 365 email plan. The calculator counts the standalone Teams Essentials license ($4 a user); offices that get Teams inside Microsoft 365 save less on that line, about $1.60 a user on Business Basic by moving to the no-Teams edition at renewal.

Can an AI receptionist replace a receptionist?

It can take over the phone side of the front desk: it answers every call around the clock, books and reschedules appointments, takes messages, answers questions from your knowledge base and flags emergencies. The receptionist view assumes the role is not refilled and adds AI minutes for the front desk's calls (about 2,000 minutes a month per receptionist). Offices that keep someone at the desk for check-in should use the software-only view, which saves $637 a month for a 10-user office.

What does an after-hours answering service cost compared with Talos Connect?

Live answering services typically charge by the minute; the office profiles here budget $360 to $1,685 a month. The Talos AI receptionist is $149 a month including 500 minutes, with more minutes at $75 per 500.

Do I still need a merchant account?

Yes, for now. Talos Connect sends payment requests and payment plans by text and tracks what has been paid, but card payments still settle through a card processor, so this page does not count merchant account fees as a saving.

Are these prices current?

Yes. Market prices were checked in October 2026 from vendors' published pricing pages or, where a vendor does not publish prices, from third-party price trackers. The receptionist cost uses BLS wage and employer-benefit data. Sources are linked on this page. Talos Connect prices are the list prices in our customer self-service store.
